GRAPHIC STYLE:

Sprites and backgrounds are crafted with hand-drawn animations, each consisting of hundreds of frames and enhanced by a simple yet captivating shading technique. With its art style inspired by classic cartoons, this game will evoke the sensation of playing through a gory, nightmarish fever-dream version of the beloved cartoons from your childhood.

GAME ROLES

At the start of a new game, you choose one of six characters (Trevor Covalsky, Agent Malcolm, Pitzy, and three others to be announced), each offering a distinct gameplay experience inspired by the classic arcades, that affects how enemies react and challenge you. The remaining five characters are controlled either by AI (in single-player mode) or by other players in local multiplayer mode.
The game alternates between two phases: a Strategic Map Phase and an Action Phase.

MAP PHASE:

In this phase, the game adopts a board game-style layout, representing Omicron Town’s map. On your turn, you roll a virtual dice to determine the stage or slot you move to next. Each slot corresponds to the home of one of the many deranged inhabitants of Omicron Town.
Before entering a stage, you can customise your character with moves and abilities earned by completing stages. These abilities have unique strengths and weaknesses, allowing for different strategies. Once you complete (or fail) a stage, the turn passes to the next player.
The map is divided into three concentric circles, each representing a different area of Omicron Town: The Countryside, The Neighborhood, and The Outskirts.
Each circle contains 13 stages, featuring nine regular enemies, three bosses, and one massive boss.
The final boss of the game awaits at the centre of the map. Victory is achieved only by defeating it.
You begin in the outer circle. To progress to the next circle, you must first defeat the massive boss of the current circle. However, to challenge that boss, you need to overcome at least two regular bosses. To fight a regular boss, you must first defeat at least two regular enemies.
If you fail a stage, you remain in that spot and must replay the level on your next turn until you succeed.
You win the game by reaching the final boss before the other players, and defeating it.

ACTION PHASE:

Once you enter a stage, you face off against a crazed inhabitant of Aetheria. The gameplay style depends on the character you’ve chosen, with each character offering unique abilities and mechanics, ranging from shooters to platformers. The goal is simple: eliminate your enemy.

CHARACTERS GAMEPLAY:

TREVOR COVALSKY: As a young Trevor Covalsky (from the Taeter movies), who escaped from the depths of Omicron Labs, you’re armed with a deep hatred for authority and a terasonic scream that can control movement, induce suicide, or in extreme cases, cause bleeding from every orifice. Your gameplay is an ultra-gory twist on Pong: you use an Omicron Corp soldier as a human shield, ensuring that enemy attacks hit the soldier instead of you. Each time the soldier is struck, Trevor’s scream inflicts damage on the enemy. When the soldier dies, Trevor unleashes a final devastating scream that forces the enemy to commit suicide in a uniquely gruesome animation. AGENT MALCOLM: As a rejected FBI agent, determined to uncover every conspiracy involving Lumen Corp, you wield an alien gun capable of consuming the flesh of enemies and converting it into ammunition. The gameplay is inspired by classic shooters such as Metal Slug and Contra, requiring you to evade enemy attacks and bullets while firing to deplete your foe’s health bar. Once the enemy’s energy is drained, you unleash a devastating finishing move, with your weapon systematically tearing through their body in layers—removing skin, exposing muscle, and shattering bones—resulting in a gruesome and visually dynamic death sequence that changes with each encounter. PITZY: As the guinea pig dog of Omicron Labs, who escaped from a surgery room deep within Aetheria, you are equipped with robotic legs armed with sharp blades and a small jetpack that allows you to perform acrobatic jumps to attack enemies. The gameplay draws inspiration from classic platformers such as Super Mario and Bubble Bobble. You must evade enemy attacks while navigating multiple platforms that help you reach your enemies and strike them with your bladed legs. Once the enemy’s energy bar is depleted, you can execute a final interactive finishing move, ending their life in a unique and gruesome way.

STORY

In the aftermath of a devastating global war, Omicron Corp is promoting Atheria: a self-contained utopian town shielded from the chaos of the outside world. Marketed as the birthplace of a "perfect society," this experimental safe zone promises its residents a life free from violence, poverty, and despair—at the cost of their voluntary participation in an experiment called TAETER. But beneath its polished exterior lies a horrifying truth: the TAETER Experiment is a test of an audio-based mass control system derived from alien technology, designed to subjugate the population. When the system spirals out of control, the idyllic community descends into chaos, transforming its residents into bloodthirsty killers whose daily routines become a grotesque theatre of depravity and violence. You are one of the few survivors—a desperate outsider and a handful of experiments who escaped from Omicron's secret labs hidden within Atheria—and the only hope to put an end to the horrifying Taeter Experiment. But to achieve that, you must first battle your way through hordes of deranged inhabitants and escape this living hell. Do you have the guts—and the blood—to do it?
