GAMEPLAY
"CAED is a 1vs1 fighting game with a horror and sci-fi story deeply intertwined with the ever-expanding Necrostorm universe. It features its main bizarre Heroes and Villains, offering a total of 13 playable characters and an unparalleled level of gore and violence."
GRAPHIC STYLE:
With unprecedented handmade sprites featuring thousands of animation frames and a style that merges anime with classic cartoons, CAED elevates Necrostorm's renowned gore and hyper-violence to a whole new level. Dynamic elements such as zoom-ins during close-range action, camera angle changes during finishing moves, and state-of-the-art sprites create the feeling of playing an interactive, gory cartoon.GAMEPLAY
With a fighting mechanic centered on perfect timing and a new directional system that influences attack, cancel, parrying, and evading moves, CAED aims to revive the classic arcade and console fighting experience, enhanced with a modern twist.FINISHING MOVES
The finishing moves system is tied to the three main special moves, allowing you to perform them procedurally in any order you choose. This gives you a vast array of bloody combinations to destroy your enemy with beautifully handmade, gruesome fatalities, each with results that vary depending on the enemy. If that’s not enough, certain combinations will trigger even more bloody and cinematic fatalities—three per character—featuring interactive actions that influence the final gruesome outcome.GAME MODES
Along with the classic Arcade, Versus, and Practice modes, the experience is rounded off with the primary and complex CAED mode.In this mode, each game begins with a map where Plasma simulates the battles between the Thinking Weapons. Your goal is to find the secret path to complete the game.
After choosing from the 13 playable characters, you enter the map, where you select your first enemy from the roster. You can face, between the regular opponent from the roster, also unique non-playable enemies offering different fighting experiences, all strictly tied to the fighting genre.
Every stage and battle unlocks rewards—such as lore objects, unique special moves, or character skills—directly related to how you fought, how you defeated your opponent, and how you interacted with the stage. These elements—extra skills, special moves—are usable in future fights, while certain lore elements are permanently unlocked and vital for uncovering the secret path to complete the game (they can be accessed via a separate menu that also includes additional mini-games)
After defeating an enemy or completing a stage, you proceed to your next opponent. At this point, you can stick with your current character or switch to another of the 13. This cycle continues until you die or finish all the stages. If your chosen sequence of stages aligns with the secret path, you unlock the final and real ending. If not, the game resets as Plasma’s simulation or prediction is deemed incorrect.
This design combines the fast-paced accessibility of an arcade game—allowing you to jump into a new session without committing to a lengthy playthrough—with a deeper macro-completion system that requires significant time and effort. You’ll need to investigate all the lore elements unlocked during previous attempts. This dual approach ensures CAED offers strong longevity and replayability.
