Your mission is to locate and defeat the rogue commanders, Squalo and Vitralia, and retrieve or destroy the lost cargo of alien weapons (the Krogmorgs). To achieve this, you must progress through the stages and complete them in a specific order, overcoming numerous and unique regular enemies, traps, elite enemies, bosses, and elite bosses. The three characters you can choose from (Plasma, Crystal, and Piranha) each have completely different gameplay styles: fighting, shooter, and platform. Some stages can only be accessed by specific characters, using their unique skills to interact with the background environment, such as destroyable floors, climbable rock protrusions, breakable walls, and more. The correct path or order of stages to complete consecutively can be discovered by replaying the game and unlocking lore objects, consumables, and skills, which will be permanently unlocked once found. This design combines the fast-paced accessibility of an arcade game, where you can jump into a new session without committing to a lengthy playthrough, with a deeper macro-completion system that demands significant time and effort. This dual approach ensures Gorebreaker Soldiers delivers strong longevity and replayability.
